Policies

The following is a summary of the Foundation policies regarding publication for use with Tékumel. There are two levels of Foundation approval for new materials:

Informal or “fan” publishing

Creative works not intended for sale, i.e. non-commercial or “fan” publications, and for which you are not seeking approval as “official” Tékumel material must agree to the following:

• You agree in advance that you will not seek payment or remuneration in any form for the publication, distribution, or other development of the work;
• You agree to place in a prominent location (at the beginning or in the credits) the following statement: “This work is a Fan Publication, an unofficial work not approved for Tékumel. Tékumel, the Empire of the Petal Throne, and all related products and materials are protected by national and international intellectual property law. For additional information, please visit www.tekumelfoundation.org”
• You agree to provide a copy of your work for the records of the Tékumel Foundation, to be held in perpetuity.

Please be aware that any proposal which involves charging for the materials produced, including on a cost recovery basis, cannot be covered under the Foundation’s fan license and will require a business proposal aimed at a For Profit project.

For-profit publishing
